Abrisud: a showcase website serving a technical catalogue and distribution network

Abrisud is a brand specialising in pool and outdoor shelter solutions, with an extensive catalogue, technical products and a network of partners to promote.
The challenge: moving away from a “static catalogue” showcase website” to move to a WordPress platform:

  • oriented generation of quotation requests,
  • capable of highlight expertise and product ranges,
  • while remaining perfectly connected to the existing information system (WinDev).

We have developed a custom WordPress showcase website, built around WooCommerce, Dokan, custom PHP modules, and integrations via web services.

Project objectives

  • Structure a modern showcase website showcasing the Abrisud ranges.
  • Facilitate product research and discovery (by need, by type of shelter, by use).
  • Implement a clear contact path : forms, calls to action, requests for quotes.
  • Synchronise certain data with the WinDev system via a web service.
  • Prepare a technical base compatible with future developments (professional space, partner network, multi-vendor approach if necessary).

Our approach

1. Framing, content architecture and SEO

We began by working on:

  • the’tree structure of the site,
  • the product families and entries based on customer requirements,
  • the SEO semantics : choice of menu titles, H1 headings, URL structures.

Objective: to make the Abrisud website a true acquisition tool, not just an online catalogue.

We have structured the content to:

  • Respond to searches such as: “low pool enclosure”, “patio enclosure”, “motorised enclosure”, etc.
  • Propose a smooth journey : category page → product sheet → contact us / request a quote.

2. WordPress + WooCommerce platform to manage the catalogue

Even if it is a showcase website, We used WooCommerce for:

  • manage the product catalogue in a structured manner,
  • have dedicated fields (dimensions, options, ranges, collections, etc.),
  • prepare the ground for possible advanced features (quotation / shopping basket / professional area).

The product sheets have been adapted to the B2C/B2B context:

  • highlighting of profits (safety, comfort, space saving, aesthetics),
  • photo galleries and contextual visuals,
  • evidence blocks (certifications, warranties, after-sales service, etc.),
  • integrated calls to action: “Request a quote”, “Request a call back”, “Find an adviser”.

3. Using Dokan & preparing for a multi-vendor approach

Dokan was integrated to meet a need for network-based structuring (distributors, partners, resellers):

  • possibility of’associate products or ranges with partner entities,
  • future management of’dedicated areas (sellers/partners) if the model changes,
  • preparation of a logic multisite / multi-vendor if Abrisud wishes, in the long term, to open up specific features to its partners.

Even though, at this stage, the site remains a showcase, the technical foundation is ready to evolve without rebuilding everything.

4. Custom PHP modules & WinDev web service

The technical core of the project: make WordPress communicate with the existing.

We have developed custom PHP modules for:

  • interact with a WinDev web service,
  • synchronise or retrieve certain data (catalogue, references, statuses, zones, etc.),
  • limit duplicate entries for internal teams.

In concrete terms:

  • WordPress becomes the shop window and the entry point for users,
  • WinDev remains a business brick power station,
  • exchanges take place via API / web services, with consistency checks.

This enables Abrisud to:

  • to keep one's existing software ecosystem,
  • while benefiting from the flexibility and ergonomics of a modern WordPress.

5. External APIs & technical optimisations

We have also integrated External APIs for:

  • the geolocation management (find an adviser or contact point based on the user's location),
  • improvement of’form experience (address autocompletion, standardisation, etc.).

At the same time, we worked on:

  • optimisation of performances (caching, minification, media optimisation),
  • the technical SEO tagging (schema, Hn structure, metadata),
  • compatibility mobile-first for use on smartphones/tablets.
