What has changed for PixelStore
The challenge
Since 2017, PixelStore has been operating a B2B marketplace for refurbished IT hardware (servers, switches, workstations). The initial model involved bringing together 12 suppliers on a legacy Magento 1 platform. By 2024, their transaction volume had increased 18-fold, but their platform was struggling: it took 38 seconds to display a product listing; there was no multi-currency support despite them selling in EUR, USD and GBP; and every order had to be placed outside the platform via email due to a lack of functionality (40 % of estimated turnover).
Real bottlenecks: no hierarchical approval of orders (SME buyers often have to get approval from their RAF before placing an order), no EDI for large accounts that require EDIFACT invoices, and a dispute refund workflow managed in parallel on Trello/Notion.
Decision: complete overhaul using WordPress + Dokan + deep ERP integrations.
Our solution
WordPress 6.9 + WooCommerce 9 + Dokan Pro 4 with a custom multi-vendor hub. WooCommerce multi-currency + WPML (FR/EN/ES) with real-time exchange rates synchronised from the ECB. Stripe Connect Standard for automatic distribution to 280 sellers (with an 8 % commission deduction and a 14-day escrow period).
Custom hierarchical approval module: each buyer can appoint 1 to 3 internal approvers; a basket totalling more than X € triggers an approval workflow via email and a pending dashboard. Slack/Teams notifications via webhook for premium accounts.
EDI EDIFACT: automatic conversion of orders to INVOIC/ORDERS, transmission via encrypted AS2 for the 18 major accounts that request it. Integration of Sage X3 at PixelStore for consolidated accounting monitoring.
Native dispute workflow: initiated from the order details page, moderated process, automatic resolution after 30 days if the seller does not respond. Real-time statistics on the dispute rate per seller (visible in the public profile).
«It took us three years to find an agency capable of handling the scope of the project. Evolurise is the only one to have understood both the Dokan system AND our EDI/ERP requirements. They also kept to a tight 26-week schedule without any delays. We recommend them without reservation.»
